Work Package 5: Daily management of WASCAL Data Discovery Portal and WADI

Lead: WASCAL Competence Center

Methodology: This task will address the data, storage and computing (DSC) activities in terms of data collection, data archiving, formats definition, quality assurance and quality control, semantics and dissemination of data. This task will be executed jointly with all stakeholders based on data sharing protocols and memoranda of understandings developed by WASCAL
and partners around the project. The strategic planning of data sharing policy, formatting, archiving, use/re-use will be prepared (including a website, a logo and possibly a slogan). It will develop a data management plan (DIMP) in direct collaboration of all WPs, the project steering committee and the GM/UNCCD. WASCAL data infrastructure (WADI) and
supercomputers (High Performance Computer, HPC) and storage devices will play a central role in task.

5.3. Project data & information handling, e-presence, branding, media relations, and
showcasing of impact stories, building a project database and a web portal

D.5.3.1.Regular project newsletters and presence in social media (M6, M12, M18, M24)
D.5.3.2.-Statistics on number of data portal visitors, reporting of workshops/meetings, training sessions and field works (M1-M24)

Strategic Benefits:
The strategic benefit of the WP5 includes project data and information handling, e-presence, branding, media relations, documentation and showcasing of impact stories of the project. This task will further lead to a robust presence on all strategic e-platforms, including, the project
website, Facebook, Instagram, twitter, LinkedIn and e-newsletter platforms such as mail chimp.
