PROF. YAFFA LAYS TRIAL BEDS AT PILOT SITE
Lead Investigator Prof Sidat Yaffa highlighted the significance of the Onion research trial in the overall objectives of the RECCLUM project, saying it will provide new knowledge to the beneficiaries. He noted the different conservation methods employed that can be adopted by women in improving production and productivity in horticulture gardening.
“A DREAM COMES THROUGH” SAYS WOMEN LEADER
Tomaring Badjie a women leader in Bullock hailed the RECCLUM project as a life changing initiative for women gardeners, recounting difficult day face by women in the area. “This is a dream coming through for us”, she said “We used to draw water from this old well all throughout our decades of work in this garden. The insecurity is the thing out the past now”. Madam Badjie disclosed that 24 women are working in the garden benefiting from the new dripping irrigation system installed by the project while hoping the initiative would be scaled up to increase production and productivity in vegetable farming.
