On Saturday 8th February, 2025 Prof. Sidat Yaffa Lead Investigator of the RECCLUM Project led the practical demonstration of the laying of Onion trial beds at the pilot site in Foni Bullock West Coast region. The team joined forces with women of the garden, sharing firsthand knowledge on new practices as they rejoice over the drip irrigation system installed by the project. The trial showcased different conservation methods including Grass mulch, Plastic mulch and Controlled on Onion production where seedlings are been transplanted for research purposes. The aim of the study is to showcase a technology that can be adopted by farmers. Other members of the team include Dr Mamma Sawaneh, Dr Ebrima Sonko, Researcher Assistant Lamin Bojang of the National Research Institute NARI and Ousman Manneh Communications Consultant.
