Symposium on Climate Change and Land Use and Land Management in Africa

The Symposium on Climate Change and Land Use and Land Management in Africa gathered more than 50 participants from Europe and Africa to address the intersection of climate change and land use challenges in the region. Through presentations and discussions sessions, the Symposium facilitated the exchange of best practices, research findings, and case studies on sustainable land use and management. Some of the key themes covered during the symposium include indigenous knowledge, flood risk management, assessment of land cover changes, environmental and climate education, crop diversification and food security, among many others. The event was organised by the Research and Transfer Centre “Sustainable Development and Climate Change Management” of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), the University of The Gambia, and the WASCAL Competence Centre, as part of the BMBF-funded project “RECC-LUM” (Feasibility Study on Climate Change, Land Use Management, and Renewable Energy in The Gambia)
